A clock takes 7 seconds to strike 7. how long would it take to strike 10.
10.5 strikes bcoz if seven strikes takes 7 seconds the time starts at the 1st strike.....so its 7 seconds for 6 strikes oly.....so for 10 strikes it wil take more 3,5 seconds which is 10.5scnds

when it strikes 10 strokes the time required for 9 strokes = 9 × 7/6 = 63/6 = 10.5 = so the answer is 10 1/2sec.

If we take the time between the strikes as "t",
ReplyDeleteat 7 o clock there are 7 strikes so there are 6 such time intervals in between.
So 6t =7 or t = 7/6.
At 10 o clock there are 10 strikes and hence nine such intervals.
So time taken = 9t = 9*7/6 = 10.5 sec.
it takes 10.5 sec to strike...
